The Sound of Music Fantasy
Happy 60th anniversary to The Sound of Music! The original Broadway musical opened in November 1959. So excited to share with you all my new piano Fantasy based on some of its most iconic themes. I have wonderful childhood memories watching the classic film with my family, and I wanted to pay tribute to these beautiful melodies.
This piece has influences ranging from jazz to classical composers that I love. There is even a small one bar quote from one of my favourite piano works hidden in there. Hint, it’s by a French composer. Can you find it? Let me know in the comments.
